I hope they all take this opportunity seriously and focus on what REALLY needs to be addressed. Our debt and deficit is being driven heavily by increases in our "entitlement" spending. Medicare specifically.

Members of both parties need to be run out of town if they don't get their act together. We must continue to reduce government spending. The current sequester has proven that government can make modest cuts slowly with little adverse affects to the economy. So let's continue to tighten our belt.

The fact of the matter is that we need to reduce or eliminate our annual deficits and start working on paying down our debt. We can't continue to borrow money to pay for our lifestyle. Our standard of living is being propped up with a credit card.
